Hi, I’m Kim Shur, a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist based in Maine. My passion for helping children, teens, and young adults began at Penn State University, where I studied psychology and supported families through a special education hotline. That early experience showed me how powerful it is when parents and young people feel heard, understood, and guided with care.

I went on to earn my doctorate in school psychology at Penn State and completed training in both suburban and rural school districts, gaining a deep understanding of how children think, learn, and grow. After spending part of my childhood in New England and many family vacations in Maine, moving here felt like coming home. For the past 20 years, I’ve partnered with school districts in Maine to provide neuropsychological evaluations for students navigating autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning and intellectual disabilities, and emotional or behavioral challenges.

Today, through Youthful Insights Psychology, I bring that experience into a collaborative evaluation process designed to help families and young adults see the full picture. My goal is to offer clarity and practical guidance so you can move forward feeling supported, informed, and hopeful about what comes next.
